Mistfall Hunter Tier List — Ranked By Mode
Mistfall Hunter Tier List — Ranked By Mode
There is no single Mistfall Hunter tier list — the right class depends on whether you queue solo, duo, or trio, and whether you want to play ranged or in your opponent's face. Launch-day community trackers publish role-based tables across five to six modes rather than a universal S-to-D ranking, and they evaluate classes on survival, reliable pressure, disengage tools, PvE efficiency, team utility, and learning cost. No invented win rate or extraction rate is used.
How tiers are defined
Across both trackers the tier labels mean roughly the same thing. S-tier is broadly valuable in that mode — the class answers the mode's central risks with a generally useful kit. A-tier is strong with a clear trade-off or manageable weakness. B-tier is viable but more dependent on matchup, coordination, or execution. Ratings were last refreshed in early August 2026 against the launch build.
Solo PvP
For solo queues, S-tier is Mercenary and Shadowstrix. A-tier is Blackarrow, Sorcerer and Withered Knight. B-tier is Seer — workable, but more dependent on picking the right engagements. The trackers split slightly: one camp lists Blackarrow and Mercenary as S for solo tier while another puts Mercenary and Shadowstrix on top. Either way, a frontline bruiser or a stealth assassin is the safer solo pick.
Duo PvP
In duo play the front of the leaderboard changes. S-tier becomes Withered Knight and Seer — one tanky bodyguard plus one support. A-tier is Mercenary, Sorcerer and Blackarrow, and B-tier drops to Shadowstrix. Withered Knight's team-shield tools and Seer's healing/buff flexibility are what tilt duos in their favour.
Trio PvP
For three-player lobbies, S-tier is again Seer and Withered Knight. A-tier is Sorcerer, Blackarrow and Mercenary, with Shadowstrix in B-tier. The Seer is widely described as "mandatory in any party" by community write-ups because the support toolkit scales hardest when more allies benefit from it. Trio frontline duties split cleanly between Withered Knight and Mercenary.
Beginner PvP
For brand-new accounts, S-tier is Mercenary and Sorcerer. A-tier is Withered Knight, Seer and Blackarrow. B-tier is Shadowstrix. The beginner ranking values forgiving kits and predictable melee exchanges over burst ceilings. Mercenary tops the chart because it has the highest base HP and the simplest defensive reads.
Ranged and melee PvP
Splitting by engagement range tells a different story. Ranged PvP puts Sorcerer and Blackarrow at S-tier, Seer at A-tier, and Mercenary, Shadowstrix and Withered Knight at B-tier. Melee PvP puts Mercenary, Withered Knight and Shadowstrix at S-tier, Seer and Sorcerer at A-tier, and Blackarrow at B-tier. If you know you want to fight at range, play Sorcerer or Blackarrow; if you want to brawl, pick a melee S-tier.
PvE and beginner list
Launch-day community tracking also publishes a PvE table with Sorcerer and Mercenary at S-tier and a Beginner list that places Mercenary at S and Seer, Blackarrow at A-tier. These reinforce the same conclusion: Sorcerer and Mercenary are the safest PvE workhorses, while Seer and Blackarrow round out a learner's roster.
What this means for your pick
If you only learn one class first, Mercenary is the safest pick by every tracker. If you already have a group lined up, queue as Seer for trio support or Withered Knight to anchor the frontline. If you want solo carry potential in the current patch, Shadowstrix or Blackarrow are the consensus options.
How the trackers actually scored classes
The wiki.gg criteria for the tier tables are six dimensions: survival, reliable pressure, disengagement, PvE efficiency, team utility, and learning cost. Solo PvP weights disengagement higher because escape routes save solo runs. Trio PvP weights team utility higher because coordinated play scales with buffs. Beginner PvP weights learning cost and survival because the population cannot execute hard kits yet. The wiki explicitly states that no invented win rate, extraction rate, or DPS number is used, and that the table is not an official tier list — every row is the tracker's call.
How the tier labels were chosen
Three principles guided the labels. S-tier means the class answers the mode's central risks with a broadly useful kit rather than a single strongest tool. A-tier means strong with a clear trade-off — the class has a real weakness, but it does not gate progress in that mode. B-tier means viable but more dependent on matchup, coordination or execution — the class can win, but the player has to create the conditions. None of the launch classes drop below B in any mode at the moment, which is what makes Mistfall Hunter a relatively balanced launch roster.
What the ratings do not cover
The tier tables do not weight individual player skill, party composition, or build depth. A bad Withered Knight player will lose to a good Shadowstrix player regardless of tier. The tables also do not weight ladder position, extraction rate, or any single-match statistic — those numbers were not published in the sources reviewed for this page (Awaiting official data: any future official tier list would supersede these).
Refreshing the tier list over time
The community trackers publish last-updated dates so you can tell whether a table is current. The launch-day tier consensus was last updated 2026-08-04, against the launch build. The August 6 client update tweaked Blackarrow and Withered Knight balance and reduced some Withered Knight energy costs — minor shifts, but worth a re-check before you commit to a class for a long climb. Bellring Games has signalled a roughly three-month season cadence with each new season adding classes, regions and relics, which will move the tier tables between seasons.
How to read the modes against each other
The six modes are not interchangeable — they measure different things. Solo PvP measures whether a class can win a 1v1 encounter and reset if the first plan fails. Duo PvP measures whether a class synergises with one partner, usually a frontline + backline pair. Trio PvP measures whether a class's utility scales when three players coordinate. Beginner PvP measures whether a class forgives execution mistakes. Ranged PvP and Melee PvP split the roster by engagement range, which makes them useful when you already know you want to fight at a specific range. Reading all six tables together gives you a clearer picture than any single mode.
Why the trackers diverge slightly
Launch-day community trackers publish slightly different S-tier picks for Solo PvP and PvP — one camp puts Mercenary and Shadowstrix on top of Solo, while another puts Blackarrow and Mercenary on top. Both are community judgement calls based on the same launch build; the differences come down to which scenarios each tracker prioritises (one emphasises reset-and-cleanup, another emphasises burst-and-survival). Neither is wrong, and both are within the "broadly valuable in that mode" definition of S-tier. If you are torn between the two top picks, your playstyle preference is the deciding factor.
How tier shifts typically happen between patches
Three patterns recur as the launch build matures. Buffs push underused classes up the table — if a future patch adds range to Shadowstrix Daggers, expect the tier tables to move Shadowstrix up in Solo PvP. Nerfs drop overperformers down — if a future patch reduces Blackarrow full-draw damage, expect the Sightline column to shift. New content reshuffles the meta — the launch build's Brandrgarde Cataclysm map, Holy Light weapons and Soul Harvest mode (scheduled 2026-08-14) are all content additions that will move tier positions between seasons. Re-check the trackers after each major patch rather than trusting any single snapshot.
