How We Verify What We Publish
Last updated: 2026-08-09
Primary sources
Every quantitative claim on the wiki is traceable to one of the following primary sources. We do not paraphrase or speculate about numbers we cannot verify.
- The official Mistfall Hunter website (mistfallhunter.com)
- The verified Steam store page (Steam)
- Official patch notes and Discord announcements
- The official YouTube channel (@MistfallHunter)
- The official X / Twitter account for news and patch callouts
- The official Reddit community for player-reported issues and dev responses
- The studio's newsletter for roadmap and long-form announcements
- First-party in-game data (item names, weapon stats) verified by the team
What we will not publish
- Datamined or leaked content before official confirmation
- Exploits, cheat instructions, or any content that violates the game's terms of service
- Unverified screenshots or videos whose provenance we cannot confirm
- Speculative tier-list rankings without match-data support
- Plagiarism, undisclosed AI-generated text, or unattributed third-party material
Verification workflow
Each guide follows a four-step process before publication:
- Source check. Every quantitative claim cites its source (Steam page, official site, patch notes, in-game test).
- Peer review. A second team member confirms the source and re-reads the prose for clarity and accuracy.
- Last-updated date. Set on publication. Tied to the most recent patch the guide was checked against.
- Re-verification cadence. Tier lists and stat-heavy guides are re-checked after every official patch; evergreen guides (Beginner Guide, FAQ) are re-checked quarterly.
Corrections
When a guide is wrong, we fix it and add a note in the page footer noting the change. Substantive corrections are also called out in the wiki news section so returning readers can spot the update. If you spot an error, please report it via the Contact page.
Conflict of interest
We do not accept compensation from Bellring Games, Skystone Games, or any other party in exchange for coverage decisions. The team has no insider access to unreleased content and does not trade tips or leaks from developers, publishers, or platform holders. Where a team member is also a content creator or streamer, that relationship is disclosed at the top of any affected guide.
Monetization & sponsored content
The wiki is reader-supported and may earn revenue through display advertising, affiliate links (for example to the official Steam store or gaming-hardware partners), and clearly labeled sponsored placements. Monetization is a way to keep the project running — it is not a reason to write anything we would not otherwise publish.
- Disclosed placements. Any page that includes a paid placement, sponsored slot, or affiliate callout carries a visible Sponsored or Affiliate disclosure at the top of the page, in the same region as the last-updated date.
- Editorial firewall. Sponsors and affiliate partners do not see drafts, do not request specific verdicts, and do not approve copy before publication. The team retains full right to publish negative findings about a sponsor or partner.
- No effect on rankings. Sponsor and affiliate relationships do not change tier-list rankings, build recommendations, or whether a class, weapon, or topic is covered. Sponsored coverage is reviewed against the same primary-source rules as everything else.
- No pay-for-coverage. We do not sell positive reviews, placements, or omissions. If a paid placement violates the verification rules, it is rejected.
Use of community contributions
Community-submitted corrections, screenshots, and tips are credited in the guide footer. We do not accept anonymous submissions for any quantitative claim; community tips are treated as leads, then re-verified against a primary source before publication.
Sponsored, affiliate, and ad-supported content is disclosed at the top of every affected page
