Two-Strike Disengage
Trigger, activation, and properties of the Two-Strike Disengage mechanic in Mistfall Hunter — a free, no-stamina escape that ignores collision on a cooldown shortened by damage.
Two-Strike Disengage
Two-Strike Disengage (二击脱离) is a basic combat mechanic in Mistfall Hunter. When the player takes two consecutive hits that have impact, the icon lights up; the player can activate it by pressing the dodge button during the stagger window. The move ignores collision and costs no stamina, but it has a cooldown — taking or dealing damage both shorten that cooldown.
Trigger
Take two consecutive hits that have impact (blockable damage, not chip damage). The icon lights up when the mechanic becomes available. The window for activation opens during the stagger that follows the second hit and closes after roughly 0.5 seconds.
Activation
Press the dodge button during the stagger window. The activation consumes the buff icon — the next activation requires two more qualifying hits.
Properties
- Ignores collision — the disengage passes through enemies, walls, and most map obstacles. Useful for escaping a cornered position.
- Costs no stamina — unlike the standard dodge, this does not spend from the stamina bar.
- Has a cooldown — the base cooldown is 6 seconds when no damage is being traded.
- Cooldown shortens with damage — both taking and dealing damage during the cooldown reduce it. Heavy trades can halve the cooldown.
- Does not grant i-frames — the move is a reposition, not a true dodge. Bosses with AoE follow-ups can still land.
When to use it
- Best used to escape a losing fight — the no-stamina cost makes it a free panic button.
- Avoid during committed combos — using it mid-rotation cancels the current weapon stance. Save it for transitions between encounters.
- Pairs well with Withered Knight — the class's parry window naturally stacks with Two-Strike's activation window.
