Mistfall Hunter Boss Compendium
The launch roster of boss-tier encounters in Mistfall Hunter — three named campaign bosses, four Sacred Grove elites, and the endgame God Anchor. Strategies on this page draw on community-tested solo guides and combat footage from the early-access window.
How bosses spawn in Mistfall Hunter
- Sacred Grove — the beginner map. Four named treasure zones each guarded by a locked-chest elite, plus two random boss spawn zones. Bosses have three HP bars and spawn a temporary barrier that blocks other players from joining mid-fight; the barrier falls if the fight drags.
- Brand Stronghold — the advanced map. Higher elite density, faster ring collapse, harder boss AI.
- Endgame: God Anchor — unlocks after 15 minutes remain on the match clock. Located at map center. Three rotating forms: Glutton, Eclipsed Moon, Fallen General — Fallen General is the hardest. Long fights push the boss into a berserk state.
The three campaign bosses
1. Corrupted Moon Salmar — campaign boss
Corrupted Moon Salmar — the campaign capstone. Defining mechanic: every ability that lands spawns an enemy clone that fights like a real player. The clone HP pool is comparable to a fresh player, so killing the boss while ignoring clones is suicide.
Phase 1 (100%–55% HP): Standard attack patterns. Push the boss below 55% HP before phase 2 to reduce the second-phase pressure.
Phase 2 (55% HP trigger): Boss flies up — disengage to avoid the landing AoE. Once grounded, there is a short free-hit window.
| Attack | Counter |
|---|---|
| Big AoE tentacle summon | Perfect-dodge or die. Clones spawn on hit. |
| Soul-clone summon | Boss kneels to summon — this is the best damage window. After the clones spawn, kill them first. |
| Horizontal pounce | Easy to dodge face-on; flanking pounces are hard. Don't overcommit to defense. |
| Four-slash combo | Use Parry if you have it; otherwise disengage. |
Build: Withered Knight — Darkest Reckoning + Lingering Grace talent line (Greatsword-compatible). Killing Withered-marked targets heals you, and clone kills refund massive HP.
Core principle: Kill every clone the moment it spawns. After the clone dies, the boss's aggression drops for several seconds — that is your damage window.
2. Brutal Executioner — Sacred Grove elite
Brutal Executioner — Sacred Grove elite that gates the lower-cave treasure chest at Sunset Fjord / Demigod Coast. The cave is narrow — if you can't dodge, skip the encounter.
Pattern:
- Dash + ground-sweep — keep distance.
- Continuous ground spikes — run, don't backstep.
- Blood-spear throw + slash — two-stage dodge.
- Jump-slam with vine follow-up — multi-stage dodge.
- Spore throw (3-pulse AoE) — long range, easy to avoid.
- Dash + blood-spear combo — two-stage.
3. Elite Berserker — Sacred Grove elite
Elite Berserker — Sacred Grove elite that guards the Bounty Rest ↔ Supreme Hall indoor corridor. Lots of pillars in the arena — they block dodge paths, so use them as line-of-sight breaks.
Pattern:
- War-cry = AoE stun + tick. Dodge immediately.
- Sweep + ground spikes — back off the gold-telegraph zone.
- Dash sweep — standard.
- Jump heavy + ground spikes — dodge on the lift animation.
- Throwing axes — dodge at range.
Counter-build (Blackarrow): Lightning Arrows + Plague Arrows + Barbed Arrows; skills Barrage + Skyfall Arrow for damage + Frost Bomb for CC. Bait the war-cry from outside war-cry range, otherwise it one-shots.
Deer Glutton — boss-tier elite
Solo strategy (Withered Knight, Chaos mode):
- Phase 1 triggers at 100% HP. Attack window: dodge left-right for pounce, do not spam dodge on the triple-stone throw (use lateral movement instead), bait the 4–5 hit combo into a body-close punish.
- Phase 2 triggers at 30% HP. Boss becomes perma-enraged and emits a constant spore field — standing in the spore dot ticks down HP. You get a 4–5 second window right when phase 2 starts; spend it.
Build:
- Talents (511 route): pick Momentum (off-weapon swap refills Judgment energy) → Righteous Conviction (Judgment increases physical atk) → Lasting Judgment (extend Judgment duration). All maxed.
- Skills: Withered Imprint (marks target with Withered → Judgment on heavy) + Formation-Breaking Charge (gap-close).
- Rotation: Withered Imprint → heavy for Judgment → 2–3 light attacks. Or: 3 light → Judgment filled → 4th light applies Withered → heavy → 2–3 light.
2. Fallen General Halad — campaign boss
Phase structure:
- Empty-shell phase — Halad starts as a hollow statue. Attack does not chip HP. Kill one of the two summoned adds; Halad absorbs its soul and freezes for ~5 seconds (cleanup window).
- Full-body phase — once both adds are dead, Halad absorbs the second soul, gains an HP bar, and unleashes a global AOE. Back off to a safe distance.
Phase 2 attack patterns (all dodgeable, all punish-able):
| Attack | Dodge direction | Punish window |
|---|---|---|
| Upward sword slash | Left-right × 2 | End of cast |
| Single clockwise sweep | Toward boss (hug inside) | Inside is safest — punish after |
| Double sweep (CW + CCW) | Hug inside — watch for ground icicles | After second sweep |
| Random ice spears | Dodge the largest first; spawned tornadoes hit hard | Avoid tornado AoE |
| Sky-drop + cross slash | Left-right × 2 | After second slash |
| Three-hit sword combo | First 2 = hug inside; last = behind | Heavy punish if stagger proc'd |
| Air-dash + sweep | Left-right on dash; hug inside on sweep | Punish right after |
| One-hand slam | Left-right safer than hugging (icicle slows) | Short |
| Single stomp | Watch the lift animation, sidestep | Short |
Build: Same 511 Withered Knight setup as Deer Glutton. Judgment rotation is identical.
3. Corrupted Moon Salmar — campaign boss
Defining mechanic: clones. Every ability that lands spawns an enemy clone that fights like a real player.

Core principle: Kill every clone the moment it spawns. After the clone dies, the boss's aggression drops for several seconds — that is your damage window.
Sacred Grove elites (head-tier)
These are the mini-bosses that gate the four locked treasure chests in Sacred Grove. Each spawns in a fixed zone, and a party of three is the intended difficulty.
Elite Berserker
Spawn: Bounty Rest ↔ Supreme Hall indoor corridor — lots of pillars that block dodge paths.
Pattern:
- War-cry = AoE stun + tick. Dodge immediately.
- Sweep + ground spikes — back off the gold-telegraph zone.
- Dash sweep — standard.
- Jump heavy + ground spikes — dodge on the lift animation.
- Throwing axes — dodge at range.
Counter-build (Blackarrow): Lightning Arrows + Plague Arrows + Barbed Arrows; skills Barrage + Skyfall Arrow for damage + Frost Bomb for CC. Bait the war-cry from outside war-cry range, otherwise it one-shots.
Brutal Executioner
Spawn: Sunset Fjord lower cave, Demigod Coast. The cave is narrow — if you can't dodge, skip the encounter.
Pattern:
- Dash + ground-sweep — keep distance.
- Continuous ground spikes — run, don't backstep.
- Blood-spear throw + slash — two-stage dodge.
- Jump-slam with vine follow-up — multi-stage dodge.
- Spore throw (3-pulse AoE) — long range, easy to avoid.
- Dash + blood-spear combo — two-stage.
Frost Mage — ranged caster elite
Pattern:
- Teleport ice-ring — dodge the moment it blinks in.
- Ice volley — strafe sideways.
- Falling ice (telegraphed) — easy dodge.
- Ice-pillar stab — ground-targeted AoE, must dodge out.
- Ice beam (180° sweep) — get behind the boss.
Nest-tender
Pattern:
- Two-hit sweep — dodge back.
- Hatchlings summon — 2–3 hatchlings, AOE-clean them (no loot).
- Three-hit sweep — dodge after the third.
- Poison breath (cone × 2) — dodge back.
- Dash + slam — long stun on hit, calm dodge.
The God Anchor — endgame boss
The endgame encounter that unlocks with 15 minutes left on the match clock in Sacred Grove. Three rotating forms:
- Glutton — sustained pressure, AoE spits, low mobility.
- Eclipsed Moon — fast, hits hard, kite-and-punish.
- Fallen General — the hardest. Adds, phase transitions, sustained AoE.
Universal rules:
- Pull the boss into an open area — pillars and walls will eat dodges.
- Do not commit to damage on cooldown. Every elite leaves a stagger window after a heavy ability — that's your damage.
- Berserk state — if the fight lasts too long, the boss enrages (massive damage, faster casts). Plan for a 4-minute kill, not a 7-minute one.
Loot drops
- Boss kills drop the highest-rarity gear available on the map tier (purple in Normal Sacred Grove, gold in Chaos).
- The God Anchor drops map-tier gold plus a chance at the named Sacred set pieces (e.g. the Insatiable Heart series).
- Clones count for half the boss kill XP — useful for grinding talents.
