Lore — Mistfall Hunter World Setting
Mistfall Hunter world setting — Weavereach (the Web of Fate), seven historical eras from the Sun Age to the Rust Age, and the five named gods.
Lore
The world name is Weavereach, meaning the Web of Fate. The player's camp is Windrest (the resting place where even the wind pauses). The game is positioned as a dark-fantasy action search-fight-extract with the tagline "Walk through the deepest dark, hunt the faintest light."
The story unfolds in the Rust Age — the gods are dead, dawn has not yet arrived. Divine blood has become the Golden Mist (mist disaster), and every soul-bound creature is "gold-rusted" into a Ruster. The divine blood is called Streamgold; Streamgold Hunters specifically gather Streamgold. The shamaness Lu guides those who cannot obtain death to hunt Rusters and capture Streamgold, to bring the mist disaster to an end.
Seven eras
The chronicle divides into seven ages.
- Sun Age — the supreme god Solang's children Fos and Nis kill Solang and trigger the first mist disaster.
- Waning Moon Age — the twin moon-gods Fos and Nis use Solang's blood to anchor the world, splitting it cleanly into three: the god realm, the human realm, and the underworld.
- Stellar Age — Fos and Nis's children, together with the outer gods who descended upon the world, kill the twin moons and trigger the mist disaster a second time. The gods drink the twins' blood, divide their power, and establish the Web of Fate.
- Heroic Age — mortal heroes rise, demigods appear, gods and mortals shine together.
- Fallen Age — demigods covet the World Tree, the gods war among themselves, and civilisation reaches its peak.
- Madness Age — endless war rages, the outer gods regain their strength, the Twilight War breaks out, all the gods fall, and the three-realm barriers collapse.
- Rust Age — the mist disaster continues, most soul-bearing creatures become Rusters, and the world stands at the edge of destruction.
